Revolutionizing the American Family and Making Friends with the Other Side

20 Feb

Small businesses run by parents have exploded in the last 2 years, and there are a ton of books and websites popping up all over the place on the subject. But the thing that sets This Little Parent Stayed Home apart from the rest is that it speaks to ALL parents, and both genders. I don’t mean to criticize the motivational movements that are empowering women, but very often it seems as though it is done in a way that puts blame on the men. In fact, every where I look there are groups that aim to empower and inspire, but they end up counter actively segregating themselves with mass amounts of finger pointing and blaming some other group. There is division everywhere we look. It begs for us to examine more closely if we are really as divided as we think we are.

This show will begin the discussion of all the things we try to avoid at parties. Politics, Religion, Marriage, Gender issues, and big business vs. small business. This show will not attempt to persuade you into joining into any group over another, but will encourage you to adopt the viewpoints that make sense for our productivity and our common goals as parents. We’ll begin with encouraging you to make a conscious decision that will open and expand your minds and your hearts, by letting go of assumptions, and societal misconceptions of what the ideal family situation should be.

We’ll be celebrating the fathers who are staying at home while the mothers go earn the larger salary, and exploring all the ways that families can work together to bring one parent home. Stay at home father, *Chris Mancini will be joining us as a guest to talk about how his family achieves this result, and how he is still able to use his skills to earn a supplemental income for his family.

I am looking forward to pouring another glass of wine and chatting with you this week  See you on Friday!

Kindest Regards,

*Chris Mancini is a comic, author, filmmaker, and parent. He recently authored  Pacify Me: A Handbook for the Freaked Out New Dad. The Sci Fi Channel awarded Chris the “Future of Film” award and aired his award winning short film SKINS, which The Museum of Television and Radio in New York archived as an “Important Short Film.” He has screened and spoken at various prestigious festivals including Slamdance, HBO’S US Comedy Arts festival, and at Comic-Con in San Diego. His first DVD compilation Myopic Visions is available now nationwide.  As a comic, Chris has played all over the country and is also a regular on LA’s alternative comedy circuit performing at: Melrose and Las Vegas Improv, Comedy Store, Ice House, Laugh Factory, Catch a Rising Star, and some of the better Funny Bones.

Celebrating the Self-Employed Parents of OurMilkMoney.com

16 Feb

I am constantly amazed at the parents that I meet on the OurMilkMoney.com business directory. When I think of all the things the Parents of the Our Milk Money Organization are  accomplishing together, and the cooperative efforts that are occurring in thousands of families across the country, I can’t help getting a little teary eyed. For so many of these warm-hearted and attentive moms and dads, taking that leap of faith into becoming self-employed was one of the scariest things they’ve ever done.
The Parents of the Our Milk Money Organization are some of the most heroic and spirited people I’ve had the pleasure of knowing, and they should be commended for their courageous efforts to provide for their families. When I had first founded the concept, I had set out to inspire parents to join together and fight for a better reality. So you can imagine my delightful revelation when I realized that it was me who was being inspired by them.
It is my genuine pleasure to introduce you to these fantastic individuals on my first broadcast, and I know you will enjoy staying connected to them week after week.

Many of these parents have donated fantastic products and services from their home based businesses. Please take a moment to register and tune in to win!

Thank you for tuning in each week. Together we will change the world.

Kindest Regards,

The School of Thought

This Little Parent… offers “no-brainer” tutorials that will reveal how one will be able to give up a corporate salary, and supplement the household revenue by offering the skills already honed. Loprete will cover important issues such as how to work as a family unit, how to discover untapped resources in one’s own community, how to start a business for under $200, and everyone’s favorite: how to manage one’s time between building a new business, providing for a family, and taking much needed time to recharge each day.

Listeners will learn how to survive on a fixed budget and work around additional expenses simply by getting creative. It is a realistic, no-nonsense, tell-it-like-it-is method that promises to have its audience laughing and crying, surviving while struggling, and hammering away at the hardships as they travel through one of the greatest journeys of their life. “My goal is to empower and unite parents who have decided to take a leap of faith into a double career with longer hours and half the pay simply because of the love they have for their children.” Loprete adds. She has invited parent entrepreneurs across the country, and the members of OurMilkMoney.com to share their stories of struggle and success. Callers with specific questions will be coached on the air.

The Mission

11 Feb

This Little Parent Stayed Home compliments Loprete’s mission with what she has already created in OurMilkMoney.com. The broadcast takes a fresh and straight forward approach to helping moms and dads realize that there is a better and more economical way to make choices for their families. Through Loprete’s effervescent energy, families across the country are offered a solution to regain control of all that feels misplaced in the last few decades.

This Little Parent… is a concept that allows parents to adequately embrace their family values and their entrepreneurial spirit by joining thousands of others who are contributing to a vibrant change. No other program dares to be as brutally honest about what to expect, yet inspires parents to take the boldest risks of their lives.

Some Notes on This Little Parent

11 Feb

Moms and dads looking to bring at least one parent home to stay with their children at an age when two incomes are vital for a family’s survival will find their inspiration through activist and motivator, Ally Loprete, host of This Little Parent Stayed Home, a new live broadcast on Toginet.com Radio.

The show is set to premiere on February 19, 2010, and will air each Friday 6-7pm EST, 3-4pm PST.

“Together we are rebuilding a new economy that will support us rather than enslave us” Loprete said. “Never again will we have to choose between raising our children and earning to provide for them. It won’t be easy, but it will be worth it.”

Being able to afford the luxury of keeping one parent home has become one of the most widely common goals in families across America today, yet most families don’t believe it’s possible to survive on only one income. This Little Parent Stayed Home speaks to BOTH parents in a way that encourages coming together as a family unit and using one’s available resources to adequately provide for their children in the best way possible for the family.

Radio Host Loprete is the founder of OurMilkMoney.com, an online search directory that lists the products and services of self-employed parents in more than 80 cities across the nation. Loprete has used her own passion to create a society where parents are given an alternative to expensive day cares and long hours away from home. Loprete’s work has inspired a movement that has parents everywhere realizing their power as consumers, and uniting together to rebuild a broken economy with home based businesses.

This Little Parent Stayed Home premieres Friday, February 19, 2010 3pm-4pm PST and 6pm-7pm EST on Toginet.com, a Live internet broadcast. The premiere show will include 50+ free giveaways from OurMilkMoney.com members – be sure to tune in for your chance to win!

The show will air each Friday, same time, and will also be available for download on itunes.

About the Host

10 Feb

Ally Loprete is a stay-at-home mother of 2 boys, a former television, theatre and film actress, singer, performer, storyteller, and teacher.

An advocate of parents, Ally founded OurMilkMoney.com, an online business directory of self-employed parents and an organization dedicated to helping parents find financial opportunities and support. Originally occupying a career in the Entertaining Industry,  and with a background and education in the Performing Arts, Ally’s career and public personality first began to take shape by her success with her various roles in hundreds of theatrical productions, television and film. She spent years entertaining her public across the country by singing, story telling, and acting.  An advocate of Outreach for today’s youth, Ally led Improvisation Workshops to troubled teenagers residing at the Los Angeles Youth Network, The Santa Clarita Community Center and Shooting Stars Center. She had a successful extended run of her Solo written and performed show Chasing Ally at Circle X’s Theatre in Hollywood, and is now a known motivational speaker to many women groups across the country.

Ally’s determination to help other parents transition from full time working parent to successful self-employed parent has grown from her own experiences. Prior to becoming a self-employed parent, Ally spent several years in various creative roles at ABC Television on the Disney lot, and although her time there was rewarding and plentiful,  it wasn’t until her first son was born that she came to realize her true calling in life. Returning to work with knots in her stomach from dropping her newborn off at a poorly run home daycare, she became determined to find a way to better her family’s situation.  Ally’s determination was fueled by her love of her children and her passion for helping others, and it ultimately led to her success as a self-made, stay-at-home mom and entrepreneur.

She is determined to help other’s deal with the sometimes overwhelming prospect of starting a new business while still running a household, and is resolute about creating a haven in which parents across the nation will continue to thrive and will get the support they need in their personal journeys.
