A Surprise Musical Guest and Live Appearance

I saw him perform live and I was so taken with his charisma, talent, dedication and commitment to his performance that I made a decision — right then and there. I was going to ask if I could interview him. Nothing was going to stop me from getting back stage.

I told the guard “I am press. I have a show on iHeart Radio.” I was immediately introduced to the manager of the band who looked at me with probing eyes. Before I could change my mind, I began talking AS IF I was worthy of the current moment. Inside my head, I heard… “Ally, Are you NUTS??” Before I could talk myself out of it, I heard myself say that I loved the show and wanted to interview the lead singer. Within moments I found myself standing in his trailer looking at him face to face. GULP.

I asked and he said yes.

Since it is a surprise, I will NOT reveal who will be performing live in the studio with me until the show today. (Sorry, but you are going to have to TUNE IN to hear who my surprise musical guest is.) There is already a lot of speculation on my facebook page. Join in the conversation….

Why do we fawn over celebrities?

Is it truly their fame that influences us? Or is it the raw talent that is discovered by the public and AS A RESULT leads to fame? Is it just assumed that a high-profiled celebrity must have earned their way to the promise land, or did they HAPPEN to know something that we didn’t?

Some celebrities are worth more than just our adoration…

When we study the journey of the most iconic figures in our society, we learn what TRULY sets them apart from the rest of the world. Often they started from a place no different than you or me.
The most talented performers in the world were also rejected, told they weren’t good enough, and had to believe in something greater than themselves to push past the tough parts. When given an opportunity to learn from them, it’s important not to focus only on the glamorous moments, but the un-glamorous ones as well. These are the moments that are less talked about, but where we will learn the most.
